The third type of eating disorder is the avoidant restrictive food intake disorder These people lose interest in some foods. There are various characteristics of the condition. People may be afraid of taking certain foods because they are not sure whether the foods will hurt them Another reason is that people show signs and symptoms of weight loss. These people are phobic of taking these foods and do not want to view it. The eating disorder is more significant in children, these people do not like to eat foods that they are not conversant with.

Anorexia nervosa is the disorder that is most prevalent among people. One tries to stop themselves from taking foods that do not contain calories. Majority of people with these condition are slim. The disorder is characterized by fear of gaining weight. For these reasons they end up partaking in vigorous exercise that ensure they do not gain weight. These people have a problem of seeing themselves bigger than they actually are, even when they are small. In adverse stages people may also experience loss of hair, and menses which prove that one is undernourished.

Bulimia nervosa is a eating disorder where one overeats food at one time. Immediately after taking the food they feel that they need to remove the food from the body because they don’t want to be fat. Lastly is the binge eating disorder that is characterized by eating too much even when one is not hungry. These are mostly obese. Studies prove that most of the people that are in these group are people that have previously suffered psychological disorders.
